Intel Trying To Get Into The Self Driving Business – Buying Mobileye for $15.3 Billion!

Intel missed the mobile technology wave almost completely. Now it doesn’t want to make the same mistake with self driving technology. Intel wants in on the next big tech wave -and they believe it is self driving cars. At a 34% premium, Intel will be spending $15.3 billion to buy Mobileye -an Israeli company that makes chips for self-driving cars. Mobileye is behind the early Level 3 (assisted cruise control and lane keeping) self driving tech in many high-end cars like Tesla. It is believed that Intel is using mergers and acquisitions and also off-shore cash to try to buy into the next tech wave: self-driving cars, drones, and VR/AR and deep learing.
